Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). As the Clone Wars near an end, the Sith Lord Darth Sidious steps out of the shadows, at which time Anakin succumbs to his emotions, becoming Darth Vader and putting his relationships with Obi-Wan and Padme at risk.
Good lord, this film has a terrible script. There’s no line of dialogue that makes me cringe more than that final confrontation between Anakin and Obi Wan when Anakin says ‘From my point of view, the jedi’s are the evil ones.’ It’s SO BAD. This one regularly gets the best reviews of the newer three but I’m not so sure. It’s better because it spends less time with Anakin and more with Obi, Yoda and Windu, but the politics feel heavy handed and Anakin’s transition to the dark side is, well, laced with cliches. I don’t love this film. 6/10.
